I have true olive skin. And i dont want over the counter but anything i can buy at ulta and macys but i have been going back and forth throughout products.
Firstly foundation- i used shisedo liquid pwder for a while and it was ok but it made me look caky so i hated it then i used origins but it was messy and didnt stay on long (liquid) then i used bare minerals and iit was good but i realized it gives me a dry too shimmery look so i’m looking into prescriptives but is that good?
Then wash- used over the counter swiss scrub and pore cleanser and it dried me out. Then proactiv but it got less effective in time and worsened my skin now i’m doing Purness by shisedo and i really like it but is it suggested?
I’m hoping experienced ones or dermatologists or make up artists here!!!
i need my skin to look less dry but not too shiny and something waterproof and that stays.
Good store brand mascaras that dont harm lashes would be appreciated too.
All i want to say is that theres NO way i’m doing maryk…sorry. its due to friends who use it….

my advice is to use DIOR! it’s not cakey, but give great coverage. i got some dark freckles on my face. sometimes i want to cover it with the natural look - without looking cakey. I tried cliq, shisedo, channel, and etc. i love Dior Fluide makeup and just put a little bit of setting power. it’s awesome =)
hmmok mac has great eye shadowand dior mascara is love i also really like revlon coverup (very light; not too strong forsensitive skin) :]

I have been really happy with NARS foundation. I bought it at Sephora. MAC has great colors and the best lipsticks out there hands down. They really last like no others. A good store bought mascara is Maybelline Define a Lash. I usually don’t buy store bought, but I got this product free as a sample and I live it.
As far as skin care, I use MD Formulations Sensitive Skin Cleanser. It works so well on my dry, sensitive skin. I also have rosacea, so my face is pretty delicate. You then need a moisturizer that’s good. You could try. I go to their office to get my skin care products, but if you don’t live in California, near San Francisco, you could try this website. Great products, great advice for your skin care.
Benefit is the best make up you can buy but MAC is pretty good too.

Your 100% right on Mary Kay products being the worst product you can put on your face, it clogs pores and breaks you out. the bare minerals foundation never came out shimmery or dry in the 6 years i’ve used it. did you put on the mineral veil finish ? the make-up stays on all day in heat in humidity if you put on mineral veil first, then foundation, and finish with mineral veil ! bare escentuals is the absolute best brand i’ve found in over 25 years. it is the only brand recommended by the national skincancer foundation, because it actually is good for the skin. i also used to switch brands often,and my skin got worse each time, till my dermatologist informed me, that it was bad for the skin. i am very happy with bare minerals, and the results keep getting better, my skin has improved a lot. i also recommend the “purity” facial cleanser by philosophy, it works wonders for my dry & sensitive skin. the mascara i like best is volume exact by covergirl, i prefer it over diorshow.
